Autumn/Winter 2010 saw Elie Saab move away from this season’s feminine tulle and lady-like embellishments, focusing on a far more structured collection. Hourglass figures were awash with lace and sheer fabrics. Body-con dresses and skirts accentuated the figure in predominately black hues, with the occasional injection of deep burgundy and midnight blue.

Elie Saab has dressed some of the most glamorous and prestigious women of our time, with creations that are often a fashion-forward favourite for the red carpet; this year’s Oscars ceremony saw stars including Rachel McAdams and Anna Kendrick opt for layers of pleated tulle in varying pastel shades.

Successfully designing exquisite eveningwear for over 25 years, Elie Saab was born in Beirut in 1964 and opened his first atelier in Lebanon at the age of 18 – and hasn’t looked back. His first show at Casino Du Liban in Beirut gained extensive media coverage and since then his reputation has steadily spread, with worldwide acclaim.

In 2005 Elie Saab launched an expansion of his RTW collection on the Paris runway and has since made Paris his second home. Going on then to open his first stand-alone boutique in Beirut, where he also moved his company headquarters. The building now houses his atelier and couture salon for accessories and RTW. Following this, in 2007, Elie Saab opened his flagship store in Paris.
